Network marketing is tough. It is not like most people set it out to be. You might have heard that some networkers managed to earn big just after a few months of entering a network, but it is not always the case. Some networkers try and fail repetitively for a couple of years before finally making it big.
Elite Marketing Pro’s top affiliates – Whit and Cari Higham also had these struggles. As a young and growing family, they had to live in their parents’ basement and tried to make ends meet via networking. However, they keep hitting a dead-end in terms of prospecting and growing their network.
Then one day, as if by accident, a prospect suddenly asked more about their business opportunity – and the prospects kept coming! This is how they did it:
The Higham couple failed in their first few years of networking because they simply don’t know where to look for the right prospects. They set up business meetings and presentations but none were interested enough to even show up.
One day, however, as if by accident, Cari talked about their networking opportunity through a video and surprisingly, a prospect commented asking to know more about the opportunity. And that was it, the prospects kept coming and Cari made sure to reach out to each of them personally via a video chat.
A crucial factor in their success is the power of the Internet. When the Highams realized that they can utilize Social Media, websites, blogs, and videos for their network, they used this to their advantage.
Creating groups and Facebook pages was the easiest part, the real challenge was how to convert followers into prospects. The couple said that some people on Facebook are just lurking in your pages, but those that actually engage (like and comment on your posts) are the ones who can be followed up with a video chat or blog post about the networking opportunity.
Talking about the networking opportunity is one thing, but what the Highams did differently that made them very successful is how they approached their prospects. Instead of just telling them about their networking business, they asked their prospects what problems they are facing, and what they are trying to achieve given that kind of opportunity.
They also asked about how they are doing in their business or career, and how their own network can eventually help them out. They started conversations and built a more personal relationship rather than simply ‘presenting a business opportunity.’
As mentioned in number 2, many people just lurk around on Facebook and other websites. Some people will just like your page, some posts, but are not really that interested in networking. That’s fine. Just let them be.
Focus on those people who actually take the time to inquire, comment, or message you personally. These are the ones who are more interested and are better, quality prospects that could be the right fit for your network.
It took more than 2 years for the Highams to find success in networking. It may have taken a while, but they did it! Now you can also learn from them and employ their successful strategies to your own network.
