Are you tired of doing network marketing in the old school way? Are you sick of organizing parties, doing home meetings, cold calling, and asking friends and families to hold parties for you? Well, there’s another way. And no, it does not mean that you have to quit network marketing altogether. Let’s face it. The traditional way of network marketing is financially crippling. Not to mention, very time-consuming. Imagine driving for several hours just to host meetings or meet up a prospect, and hosting parties at your home or your friend’s home. That requires gas, lunch money, snacks, and a whole lot of preparation. You would be spending more money than the actual sales you make in these activities.Fortunately, there is a way to do network marketing online. And the best part is, you don’t have to spend so much time and resources in order to gain prospects, leads, and sales! No need to drive long hours or organize meetings, you can do network marketing on your smartphones and laptops from home—or anywhere you like! If you are unsure because you are not tech-savvy or anything like that, you don’t have to worry. As long as you can type and navigate Social Media platforms, you are actually good to go! However, it won’t hurt to know more things along the way. So to be successful in your online networking business, you must also take note of the following steps:
1. Get Comfortable
Some may find the transition easy, but some might also need a little adjustment towards online networking. So the first thing you should do is to get comfortable! You don’t have to be intimidated or nervous, just think of this as a new course that you have to learn along the way. You don’t have to be a master computer technician to pull through.Building a business online requires a different skillset, but if you already know how to approach and talk to people, then networking online is very doable for you. However, you should always be open to new techniques, resources, and methods that are available online. Marketing strategies and trends can revolve or change quickly online, and you should be on your toes to keep up with them.It may be overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, the process will be easy as if it came naturally to you. So don’t be afraid to face the unknown. Just clear your thoughts from adversity and ignore peer pressure as you start with your online networking business.
2. Create an Actionable Plan
So you are online. Now, what should you do? The second most important thing in this endeavor is to create an actionable plan. Basically, this boils down to your goals and targets. What should you be posting this week? How many prospects should you message or add to your Social Media each day? Just jot down small and easy targets for now and try to increase that as the weeks or months go by.For example, you might just want to add 5 prospects into your Social Media network for the week. That seems minuscule, but it’s a way for you to test the waters. Of course, if you can go over that, then it’s all well and good. You may increase that number to 10 or 20 prospects later on.There are 2 main ways to start building your network marketing business online. It’s actually quite similar to traditional networking, but with a little twist. First is active social recruiting and second is passive social recruiting.Active recruiting basically means that you have to tell everyone about your business. You can post it on your profile, and call for new members for your team. Or you may also message prospects directly and offer them a position in your team. However, this is rather tricky. You don’t want to do this straight away, because you may come off rude. And that’s when passive social recruiting comes in.Passive recruiting is not the in-your-face kind of recruiting which is common in traditional networking. This is more like a personal thing, and it’s just like socializing on any normal day. All you need to do is post valuable and relatable content on your Social Media. It does not have to be connected in any way to your business. It could be your success story, personal struggles, goals, hopes, and any other pieces of wisdom that you can share with friends and prospects. The goal here is to attract more friends and followers to your network, increasing your prospect pool in the process. It also gains you exposure. Every person does not have to be actively recruited into your team, but they (and their friends) can be your customers anytime! They just have to see what you have to offer.
3. Find a Good Mentor
Last but not least is to find a good mentor. If you find the transition to online networking really overwhelming, finding a good mentor who can guide you in every step of the way would really help. You have to find a mentor who is not just a successful networker but is successful in the overall online networking realm. He/she doesn’t have to be a member of your company, the important thing is, he/she is a successful entrepreneur and networker. Finding a good mentor will lessen your trial and error phase, and it would save you money in the process too! You can also join a community of networkers that can give you access to online networking tools and resources.
