5 Types of People You Should Go After in Network Marketing

The Internet is a vast and crowded space – making it the perfect playground for entrepreneurs and marketers alike. Its vastness, however, is both a blessing and a curse. It is a blessing because it provides more opportunities and represents a huge potential market. It is also a curse because it is difficult to navigate and find quality prospects within your reach.

Sure, there are prospects out there who are more than ready to join your team – but finding them is like finding a needle in a haystack. As you scour through hundreds of weak prospects, they are just at the other end waiting to be convinced.

This makes business unpleasant because too much time and resources are being wasted on finding the right prospects. Time and resources that would have been better spent on building the network, training your people and making them productive.

Many network marketers might tell you that recruitments should be focused on your warm and cold markets. But the thing is, it will only take some time before this pool of prospects dries up. What will happen next? You have to reach out differently to attract more people.

This is why we propose that you build a different brand around your niche. A brand that is still related and relevant to your niche, but with the potential of attracting new prospects and different types of people from the Internet.

Now for example, if your networking business involves beauty products, a natural branch of that niche would be health and wellness. That would include self-care, healthy living, skincare, and body care. You can even create a sub-branch of your health and wellness brand to include organic living (promote organic food, beauty products and the like).

You can build on all these brands to promote your core business – which is network marketing. It’s basically like diversifying but in the sense of gathering prospects and recruiting new people. You can create all those niches through affiliate marketing, blogging or creating an informative Facebook page about the topic.

These efforts require work, but these are also your most viable option when it comes to attracting prospects for your business – which should include these types of people:

The Clueless

This group probably composes the largest chunk of your target market, but they are also the most difficult ones. The Clueless doesn’t even know what they want, they don’t know what they need, and even if the problems are already right up at their nose, they would not even recognize or see it.

If their skin is dry for example, they’ll say that they are stressed and that they just need sleep. The Clueless does not even seek to gain some extra income, they just expect the system to provide them with enough finances to go about in life.

As they don’t recognize any need or problem, it is difficult to convince them to buy a certain product or have them join your networking business. In short, you get most of your rejections from this group.

But why still go for them? Because again, they make up the biggest slice of your market. Your job here is to make them see or realize that they have problems to address. It will require more work and more time, but it will be worth it once a couple of them joins your business. Their stories will become “model stories” that will be used to convince more people to follow suit.

The Info-Seekers

Contrary to The Clueless ones, Info-Seekers already recognize that they have needs and problems to address. They know that they have dry skin, and stress is not just the cause of it. They have been researching skincare regimens in Google that can combat dry and sensitive skin, and they have been all over the Internet seeking that one miracle product that can finally end their problem with dry skin.

But here’s the catch, Info-Seekers are not yet very committed (yet). Sure, they may have started using a product or have tried a skincare regimen, but they have a hard time maintaining the routine. It’s basically the same as people who want to earn extra income but lack the savviness, skills, and foresight to become an entrepreneur.

Unlike The Clueless ones, Info-Seekers are easier to convince because they already recognize a certain need or problem. What you need to do is guide them towards the right path, and make them understand how important it is to be committed and hardworking in the networking business.

The Researchers

Researchers are just another set of Info-Seekers, except for the fact that they haven’t actually purchased anything yet. They are still biding their time, looking at products and reviewing whatever options they have in the market. They could just be one or two steps away from being convinced, but they take so much time before making up their minds.

What you need here is patience and a little creativity. You have to be patient with Researchers because they take their sweet time thinking about the networking opportunities that are available to them. You also need a little creativity to convince them once and for all that they should choose YOU.

Buyers

The Buyers group deserves much of your attention. These are the people who have already bought the products of your competitors. They are also the ones who have started or have tried different networking opportunities and affiliate marketing businesses. They already know what you have to offer, and they are willing to know more about your opportunity!

The Buyers group may not need much convincing, but they deserve more of your time and attention because they are what you call quality prospects. They are more likely going to be your frontline, thus they need your time and attention for training, coaching and mentoring. The problem is, they only make up a small part of your target market.

Leaders/Influencers

Now this group can be considered as a rare and valuable gem. Leaders in network marketing are those who are earning six to seven figures per month. They have cultivated a huge following in Social Media and have built a solid networking business themselves.

Once you successfully bring them into your fold, they also manage to bring along their huge following with them. This includes all types of followers from The Clueless, Info-Seekers, Researchers and Buyers that can all become your market/prospect. And that’s all possible by just recruiting people that don’t even need additional training and coaching!

Then again, there’s no quick way to attract all these types of people. You have to build your network, and build brands/niches around it. You have to build and cultivate an audience to attract more of these people – and have them reeled in towards your network marketing business.
