The pandemic made it even harder to look for prospects, and this is on top of the usual challenges that go with running a networking business. It has never been easy prospecting and building a networking team. Aside from the unending cold calls, meetings, parties, and prospect-chasing, there are also a lot of negativities, especially when people think that you are scamming them.
Many of us would be on the verge of quitting within the first few months of networking. While you may start out with luck and have 20 or more people in your network, there’s always no guarantee that each of them will stay in the next month or so.
After all, not everyone goes into networking with the same kind of dedication. This alone can also discourage you from continuing with the business. So if you are one of these people and you are looking for a sign that could tell you whether you should quit or not. Well, this is your sign. And it’s telling you to DON’T QUIT.
Why? Because you can turn around and DO BETTER. With these 3 steps, you can generate more leads and prospects, stop chasing half-hearted prospects from miles away, and cultivate a dedicated networking team that can lock arms with you all the way towards success.
It may sound cliche, but the mindset is everything. Once you change your mindset, everything else follows. You can build habits and create strategies that work to achieve what you set your mind to. While doing business (whether online or offline) is not going to be easy, bringing a dedicated mindset with you can overcome adversities and challenges along the way.
There will be tough times, sure, but keep pushing anyway. Find your answers and be resourceful. Also, try to overcome peer-pressure. People will doubt you but just stick to your game. Remember that you do not need validation from anyone. Just work and push through with your goals!
Another thing is that you should prepare yourself to go out of your comfort zone. Be comfortable with the unknown and learn how to enjoy the process. Know that you cannot learn everything all at once, so give yourself time! Most of all, pace yourself.
Building a business is similar to learning a new skill or a new profession. You need to study and learn to be effective in your raft. So learn to focus on what is in front of you, master it, apply it, and move on to the next roadblock.
This means that you have to come up with a personal strategy. There are two ways to do this. The first one is called active social media recruiting. This is as simple as creating your personal Facebook account where you engage people with your posts and content, then actively recruit them through chats or messages. You can do this without training or whatever as long as you know how to operate Facebook.
The only problem with social media recruiting is it is rather time-consuming. Aside from that, you have to create new content every time to keep your audience engaged. Not to mention, you also run the risk of being considered spam.
So to go around those risks, we have the second type which is called passive social media recruiting. This entails posting valuable content or information that will inspire your audience and pique their interest that they would eventually try and reach out to you voluntarily.
For this strategy, one has to create a Facebook business page, and have some training on lead generation, digital marketing, sales funnels, and some additional skills that will help you get on top of the game (like content marketing and blogging). If done right, the results are massive and worth it.
You will literally make money while you sleep because even if you are taking time off, prospects and recruits will continue coming due to automation. This is why it is called passive because you can still earn or capture leads without even doing anything.
Going solo in this journey will definitely be overwhelming. To increase your results and avoid the mistakes that others made before you, it is best to have someone who can guide you throughout the process. As they say, a good man learns from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
Having a good mentor by your side will help you gain confidence as you execute everything in your blueprint. You will also learn how to deal with unexpected challenges along the way. Most of all, you will learn how to manage your finances well! A good mentor will teach you where best to invest your time and money. All in all, it is more effective and cost-efficient for you and your business.
